He had to wait, and that did not please him much.
She tried to get him earlier, he could not be found.
Then I suppose, if she had gotten him earlier, he would not have had to wait so long.
That would have pleased him, would it not?

And so where 'what ifs' do not reverse time, 'forget it' does not undo hurt.
